TESTIMONY
of
Jesus Christ
No wonder
He also said,
“The world cannot
accept him,
because it neither
sees him nor knows him.
But
you -
know- him!
for he lives with you
and
will be in you.”
This makes
God’s
gift of the Holy Spirit
that much more essential
for He is
not just the
Spirit
who gives us life
and the
Spirit of Anointing
who teaches us;
He is the One Jesus calls
“the
Spirit of Truth.”
No wonder He also said,
“The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
( John 14:15-17)
Jesus,
who had just declared
Himself
to be
“The Way, the Truth and the Life”
(John 14:6),
understood
that the majority of the world
would be hostile to this
uncompromising nature
of
God that reveals the truth,
the
whole truth,
and
nothing but the truth.
He warned those who would
follow
Him into all Truth
that
“if the world hates you,
keep in mind that it hated me first.
If you belonged to the world,
it would love you as
its own
As it is, you do not
belong to the world …
that is why the world hates you."
(John 15:18-19)
Jesus adds,
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of Truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
And you also must testify.”
(John 15: 26-27)
Following Jesus
isn’t just a matter
of hearing and believing spiritual
truth
but also
telling the truth
about
spiritual realities.
This has never been and will never be popular,
but we are comforted to know that
Jesus went before as
One
willing to tell
the truth no matter the
consequences.
Being a
witness of the truth
is also a
great responsibility
It isn’t enough to
think
we
know the truth.
God has actually made us
LIABLE to Tell the TRUTH
He has not left us to guess but
promised, “when he, the
Spirit of Truth, comes,
he will guide you into all the truth
He will not speak on his own;
he will speak only what
he hears,
and he will tell you what is yet to come.
He will
glorify me
because it is from me that he
will receive what he will make known to YOU
(John 16:13-14)
Far from being a passive student of the truth,
Scripture cautions us to test everything.
Dear friends,
do not believe every spirit,
but test the spirits
to see
whether they are from God,
because many
false prophets
have
gone out into the world. This is how you can
recognize the
Spirit of God: Every spirit that
acknowledges that
Jesus Christ
has come in the flesh is
from God,
but every spirit
that does
not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of
the
antichrist…
They are from the world and therefore
speak from the
viewpoint of the world,
and
the world listens to them…
This is how we
recognize
the
Spirit of Truth
and
the spirit of falsehood.”
(1 John 4:1-6)
The Holy Spirit,
whose name is Spirit of Truth,
can be trusted to
"guide you into all
truth”
because
“the Spirit is the truth.”
(1 John 5:7)
Calling on His Name:
Spirit of Truth,
I praise You that with You there
are no shades of truth.
Everything You reveal leads to an
accurate
and life-giving reality about
Jesus.
