"Then Pharaoh commanded
all his people, saying,
'Every son who is
born
you are to cast into the Nile,
and
every daughter
you are to keep alive.'
Now a man from
the house of Levi went
and married a daughter of Levi.
The woman conceived
and bore a son;
and when she saw that
he was beautiful,
she hid him for three months.
But when she
could no longer hide him,
she got him a
wicker basket
and covered it with tar and pitch.
Then she put the child into it and
set it among the
reeds by the bank of the Nile"
(Exod 1:22 - 2:3).
I honestly do not know why
God permitted so many
Hebrew babies
to be killed
by a terrorist called Pharaoh,
who was hellbent on destroying
the chosen people
The text does not say.
But, one thing I do know
for certain.
I know why God saved
one
little Hebrew boy Named
Moses
God rescued this baby
to save the
entire nation from slavery,
to give them one
of the
greatest books ever
written,
and to bring them
safely to
The Promised Land
Let us mourn bitterly
for the
fallen children of
Israel
But in our grief, let us not forget
God hears our cries
and he
will bring forth a Deliverer
with redemption, comfort,
and
healing in his hand!
"The Spirit
of the
Lord GOD is upon me,
because the
LORD has Anointed me
to bring
Good News to the afflicted;
He has sent me
to bind up
the brokenhearted,
to
Proclaim
liberty to the Captives
and
Freedom to Prisoners;
to Proclaim
the
Favorable Year of the LORD
and the
day of vengeance
of our God;
to comfort all who mourn,
to grant those who mourn
in Zion,
giving them
a garland instead of ashes,
the oil
of gladness instead of mourning,
the
Mantle of Praise
instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be
Called
Oaks of Righteousness,
the
planting of the LORD,
that He may be
Glorified
Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
they will
raise up the former devastations;
and they
will repair the ruined cities,
the
desolations of many generations"
(Isa 61:1-3).
